We’re the generation that will live with today’s policy decisions longer than anyone else. Climate policy, voting rights, reproductive freedom, immigrant protections — these aren’t abstract issues for us. They’re the conditions of our lives, our families’ lives, and our future.
Indivisible Isla Vista takes clear positions because we believe in naming what we’re fighting for. Organized, local constituent pressure is what moves representatives — and that starts with knowing exactly what you’re demanding.

CLIMATE ACTION
A Livable Future Starts Now
UCSB sits on a coastline already showing the effects of climate change — eroding bluffs, warming seas, and fire seasons that run year-round. We push for bold climate policy at every level, from federal clean energy standards to local fossil fuel divestment. The generation inheriting this crisis deserves representatives who treat it like one.
DEMOCRACY & VOTING
Our Votes Are Our Power
Voting is the foundation of everything else we fight for. We run voter registration drives on campus, organize against suppression tactics, and hold representatives accountable when they undermine democratic norms. Every election — local, state, and federal — is a direct opportunity to change who holds power.
REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS
Bodily Autonomy Is Non-Negotiable
Access to reproductive healthcare — including abortion — is a fundamental right, not a political bargaining chip. We support federal and state-level protections for reproductive freedom and push back against any legislation that restricts access to care for people in our community.
IMMIGRANT RIGHTS
Everyone Here Deserves Protection
Isla Vista is a diverse community, and many of our students, neighbors, and families are directly affected by immigration policy. We advocate for humane reform, protection for DACA recipients, and sanctuary policies that keep our community safe.
